RECORD CONDITION EXPLANATION

It's a well known fact almost every dealer grades records differently, and everyone has different standards. Here, great pride is taken on very conservative grading, and you can rest assured of descriptions at this site since I've been grading records almost 30 years. All discs are surface graded. Note I NEVER grade a record mint. Someone will look at it under the light and find SOMETHING.

All discs are looked over at least twice under a bright halogen light. You know this when you see a tag like this on the plastic sleeve or paper sleeve:

 Here are the details:

(EX)- EXCELLENT CONDITION- also known as "near mint" in some circles. The record will look store stock new.

(EX-) - EXCELLENT MINUS CONDITION - almost like new but may have a light scuff or two. NOT a scratch you can feel.

(VG++) - VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS - Disc still has full luster but may have some gray in the grooves, a few more scuffs (but still not too many).

(VG+) - VERY GOOD PLUS - A couple more scuffs, or may have on scratch you can feel, but not enough to make the disc skip.

(VG) - VERY GOOD - Disc STILL has almost full luster. Note this is still a collectible record. Has gray grooves, a few scuffs.

(VG-) - VERY GOOD MINUS - Gray grooves, light surface wear. Might crackle here and there.

(G) - GOOD - Good is "good", your average used record with surface wear. Still should play well, not skip. This disc was obviously played and if it's a 45 was probably not stored in a sleeve.

(F) - FAIR - Pretty much a wall hanger for your room. Lots of play. Might or might not skip.
